We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to join our Family Placement Fostering Team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing quality services to children and young people, delivered within a signs of safety practice framework, to support and promote stable placements and keep children safe from harm.
We do not believe in making it unnecessarily difficult for people to foster. We want to help them join our team of valued foster carers and then give them the support they need to provide quality care to children and young people.
When Children's Services get involved in the life of a child our priority is to make sure our social workers have the support, time and resources they need to provide an excellent quality of service - the kind of service we ourselves would wish to receive.
The Team Manager role: you will be responsible for ensuring that the team delivers a high quality, responsive and flexible service to children and families, with a specific focus on placement stability and outcomes for children and young people. You will have direct management responsibility for the three Assistant Team Managers.

Your practical skills as a Social Worker will be supported by a working knowledge of the legislation relevant to looked after children and care leavers, foster care, special guardianship and adoption. This knowledge includes but is not limited to the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000 and Fostering Services (England) Regulations (2011). A Social Work qualification and prior experience of working in a family placement team is essential to perform this job role.
