Every day is different

Public service has never been more important and helping our community develop and thrive is our passion, Rushmoor Borough Council is an exciting place to be right now as we have tons of ambition and an exciting agenda.

As our HR/OD lead you will be front and centre of driving the delivery of these plans through our people and culture. We have a new People Strategy and are working hard with co-workers to shape the delivery and bring our values to life. As a natural collaborator and inspiring and visible leader, you’ll influence at every level, encouraging an employee-focused and enabling culture that emphasises empowerment, outcomes and empathy and helps everyone feel proud to work for the Council.

You’ll need to be able to roll your sleeves up, too – you'll be leading a small team, delivering all aspects of HR, OD, L&D and payroll, so will need to love operational delivery and have a strong set of technical skills, coupled with sound judgement,

As the Council’s lead practitioner, you’ll bring a breadth and depth of experience, as well as Chartered CIPD membership. But equally important will be your enthusiasm, your curiosity, your tenacity and your drive to make a difference.

This could be a great role for someone making their first move into strategic leadership, so even if you don’t think you can tick every box, do go ahead and apply, If you share our values and have a desire to develop, you could be exactly what we need!

We believe in smarter, flexible working and whilst right now we are working from home where we can, we have plans to move to a hybrid style of working, combining home working, off site working and office-based working, helping people make choices about how they do their best work.

And whilst the role is full time, we’re also happy to talk about part time hours and/or different working patterns.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about the role, call Caroline Armstrong-Forbes on 01252 398401 who can set up a discussion.

You can apply online, or send a CV with a supporting letter to hr@rushmoor.gov.uk
