Location: Flexible

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Fixed term for up to 18 months

This role is flexible meaning you aren’t required to be in the office 5 days a week. We’re interested in the work you do, not where you do it and welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what working for North Somerset Council looks like for you.

We are seeking a Policy and Partnerships Development Officer to help deliver the aims and objectives in our Empowering Communities transformation programme. The programme is wide ranging and ambitious and seeks to enable our communities to engage in the design and delivery of public services. This is a key ambition for us as part of our Corporate Plan vision to be an open, fairer, greener North Somerset.

You will be working with our partners including the Town and Parish councils, the voluntary sector and community groups across North Somerset. The projects you will be involved in are wide-ranging, from social prescribing to addressing food insecurity to understanding digital exclusion and will offer the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

You will come to us with a good knowledge of the range of services delivered in North Somerset by local government, voluntary and community groups, and you will have a background of supporting that service delivery. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with senior leaders, members and partners and will be able to demonstrate sensitivity and political awareness of the wider landscape.

For an informal discussion, please contact Lorraine Bush, Policy and Partnerships Manager on Lorraine.bush@n-somerset.gov.uk.

Anticipated interview date:  Monday 31 January 2022

North Somerset Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
