The Head of Kitchen role:

 

Your role will be to order, prepare, cook and organise the serving of the required number of daily meals.

 

Responsibilities as our Head of Kitchen:

 

·        On- the job catering experience in a catering unit

·        Carry out and supervise the final preparation, cooking and service of meals in accordance with agreed standards

·        Cook meals in accordance with menus including for those with special dietary requirements

·        Be responsible for work allocation to a team, providing direction and training as required

·        Order, receipt, control and record food and cleaning supplies, ensuring they comply with standards and requirements

·        Ensure distribution of items, ingredients and foodstuffs to dining areas

·        Undertake cleaning duties as determined by schedules in operation

·        Maintain effective communication and liaise with a variety of stakeholders

·        Ensure the correct and economical use of materials and equipment

·        Ensure the accurate completion and maintenance of records and documentation

·        Assist with the development and marketing of the service through participation in promotional materials

·        Ensure customers are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner at all times

·        Prepare dining areas when required including setting tables

·        Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, hygiene and cleanliness regulations, policies and procedures

·        Ensure the security of the kitchen including stock, equipment and resources

·        Work in accordance with the council’s values and behaviours
