About the role
Due to a recent Promotion of a team member we are excited to be advertising a vacant position in the team:
Are you looking for an brilliant opportunity to start a career in Procurement? Do you enjoy buying best value products and services? If so, Sourcing Solutions, part of the Orbis partnership, may be the team for you. Due to our successful track record we are looking to expand our team.
The team is responsible for sourcing contracts between £25,000 and £189,330 for various South-East Councils. The range of contracts is extremely varied, for example natural play trails, foster carer on-line learning, tree planting and library furniture. By obtaining competitive quotes through a tendering process, we aim to get the best quality goods and services at the right price. We advertise locally and nationally, so opportunities are open for local businesses and this also ensures best value for residents.
Procurement experience is not required as full training will be given. Previous team members have gained valuable experience in the Sourcing Solutions Team and secured promotion into more senior roles delivering complex projects.

Orbis is a shared services partnership between East Sussex County Council, Surrey County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council. Overall, the councils spend around £1.5bn with external suppliers, so we have a large Procurement Service which supports customers to deliver better value from our contracts and ensure they are sourced in an open, fair and transparent way.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
