About the role
Located within the Youth Employability Service (YES), with a co-location of 0.5FTE in the Youth Offending Team (YOT), the post holder will work at an operational level to provide support to young people aged 15-18-years-old.
The Adviser will be working with young people initially in Year 11, across the West side of the County, supporting them with successful transition from secondary education into Year 12 and 13. The adviser will use a MAPP assessment, information from the school, and parents or carers, to identify needs, or barriers, with the young person entering, and sustaining, post 16 provision. Using this information, the adviser will provide support to address these barriers and engage with the young persons’ post-16 provider, to improve the young persons’ chance of sustaining post-16 provision in the short and longer term.
The Post holder will also work closely with post 16 providers to identify young people who are at risk of leaving their provider or who may be at risk of withdrawing and to intervene and support them back into education.
The post holders will work closely with other YES staff and managers in their specialist area to maintain quality standards. The specialist adviser roles will be expected to be co-located within the YOT for a minimum of 0.5 days per week. These roles will also be expected to attend team meetings for their co-located team and input into relevant databases and systems as required by the YOT.
If you have any questions about the role, please contact the Area Manager, Ryan Matthews on 01233 224244 or email@example.com.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
