A uniquely special place
At Surrey County council, we are at the heart of our communities ensuring that our residents and stakeholders have the highest standard of services. And there is no doubt that the people who work across our organisation in so many different and important roles are the heartbeat of that quality service and innovative approach.
We are seeking a Director for People & Change who will be both an inspiring thought leader in the space of innovative culture and working as well as a pragmatist in terms of delivery. This role reports to our Deputy Chief Executive as part of our Resources directorate and as such is an integral part of the council’s corporate leadership.
In May 2021 an ambitious ‘Workforce of the Future’ strategy was agreed upon for the council and we are seeking an experienced People Leader to build upon and enhance these foundations and vision and create an energetic and outcomes focused programme of delivery.
We are looking for a collaborative leader who has significant senior experience designing and leading strategic change with regard to the people agenda in addition to leading a high performing and professional HR function. You will have a focus on delivering impactful change which is cost effective and sustainable and ensures that we are fully compliant with statutory and financial obligations as would be expected with a Public Service organisation. In the coming few years, your focus will be on leading reward reform, talent and succession strategy, EDI agenda, workforce resourcing and retention, leadership and culture solutions and building business partnering and OD&D capability.
