More than just an ordinary local authority, the City of London Corporation is the governing body of the Square Mile, a global business hub. Our traditions may be centuries-old, but our business practices are cutting edge ̶ and that includes our approach to corporate strategy. A major programme of transformation is now underway to support pace, enterprise, agility and inclusivity. This programme will have major impact, benefiting not only the people who live, work and visit here, but the wider national and global economy. The newly created team, led by our Chief Strategy Officer, will ensure cohesion between the different elements of the City Corporation as we move forward.
Your analytical insights will be critical to understanding our progress. A trusted advisor, you will help us develop and maintain a single framework against which to measure and scrutinise our organisational performance. By providing advice and guidance to Chief Officers and Members on performance outcomes, you will support and inform decision-making. You will also look for ways to continuously improve our Target Operating Model, our journey to optimise organisational efficiency, agility and effectiveness. Working with a range of partners, you’ll identify future trends and issues that are likely to affect the City Corporation, and will make recommendations about how to respond.
Most likely working in a large and complex public sector organisation, you’ll have significant experience of producing analysis and narrative to support performance plans. You’ll be proficient in using packages such as Power BI or Tableau to develop data models, manipulate data content and produce insightful reports. The ability to identify and evaluate business risks from performance data is essential. A confident communicator, able to manage relationships at all levels, you’ll also have the ability to make presentations and to write complex and sensitive management reports. Good knowledge of local or national government is essential.
This role is offered on a full-time basis. We are open to considering applications for job share, flexible working and compressed hours working. We’re committed to equal opportunities at The City of London, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
