Fixed-term contract until 31st August 2022
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.
The Local London sub-regional partnership has significant experience of developing and leading Enterprise Adviser Networks, and is currently delvering the Careers Hub in 9 London boroughs. We are working with the Careers & Enterprise Company to establish a small Enterprise Adviser Network in Essex, covering at least 60 schools and colleges in Brentwood, Harlow, Rochford & Castle Point, Basildon and Epping Forest.
As well as recruiting schools and colleges to join the network, the network will also include 15 existing school and college members across the remainder of Essex.
The Enterprise Coordinator (EC) sits at the heart of the local EAN in order to help schools and colleges improve their careers and enterprise programmes and to engage with the world of work. They do this by engaging with school and college careers leaders to join the network; support the development of their careers programmes and their achievement against Gatsby Benchmarks; recruiting and matching senior business volunteers as Enterprise Advisers to support careers provision; providing training to Careers Leaders and Enterprise Advisers.
The successful candidates will need demonstrable experience of engaging and building relationships with leaders from schools, colleges and businesses, and experience of leading the delivery of programmes or projects with multiple stakeholders. Able to build relationships at all levels, both internally and with a range of external stakeholders to develop a collaborative network and shared objectives and a strong understanding of school culture, current careers education policy and corporate social responsibility.
The Local London sub-regional partnership will manage the Essex EAN and employ the Enterprise Co-ordinators, and the Essex team will work closely with the Careers and Enterprise Company regional team.
Due to Government Covid guidelines, staff are currently working from home and holding virtual meetings. When restrictions are lifted, the role requires a hybrid working pattern of regular travel to schools and colleges combined with some home working, office working, and external meetings. Equipment is provided and travel expenses to meetings are paid.
The accountable body for the Local London sub-regional partnership is Redbridge Council, and Essex EAN staff are employees of Redbridge Council under their terms and conditions of employment.
The posts are currently fixed term until 31st August 2022, and continuation is subject to confirmation of further funding beyond the current academic year.
