Are you looking to make positive difference through your work?  Are you a self-motivated individual who has excellent communication skills and an interest in residential and dementia care?  If so you could be who we are looking for.

West Berkshire Council is looking to recruit two committed care practitioners to join our friendly, hard working team at Notrees Care Home in Kintbury.  Notrees is an 18 bed residential care home that provides residential care for older people and people living with dementia.  We offer a friendly, safe and secure environment in which our residents can live their lives with dignity, respect and inclusion.  Services are delivered within the context of our values; Respect, Inclusion, Compassion and Empowerment. Those values dictate how we support our residents, their families and each other.  We believe our residents have choices about their care, and we promote independence as much as possible. We aim to offer physical, social and emotional support to our residents in order to meet their individual needs and preferences.

This role will involve supporting residents with a diverse mix of needs.  You will be responsible for assisting residents with their day to day care, responding to their changing health, supporting their cultural preferences and promoting their emotional and social wellbeing.  You will focus on positive outcomes for the residents that respect their freedom of choice and promote their independence and you will undertake all necessary training to support you in this role.

We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.

In accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021, from 11th November 2021, all care home workers, other visiting professionals and interviewees will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they have an exemption. From this date you will be required to provide appropriate evidence of your vaccination status.

It is important to be aware that in order to be fully vaccinated by 11th November 2021, you must have received your first dose of the vaccination by 16th September 2021.

West Berkshire Council offer excellent employment benefits such as flexible working, access to a wide range of relevant training, local government pension scheme, family friendly policies, a range of local discounts and much more. You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement of 26 days per annum rising to a maximum of 32 days.

Please Contact Zoe Williams (Registered Home Manager) on 01488 658332 if you would more information before applying.
