About the role
KS1 Classroom Teachers
32.5 hours per week / full time / permanent contract
Main Pay Scale 1 – 6 (£25,714 - £36,961)
Bourne Primary is a two-form entry school located in Eastbourne town centre, currently with 453 pupils on roll. We are a happy, thriving school that strives to give all children the best education they can receive. We support outdoor learning for all with our developing Forest School. Our focus is to meet the needs of the children in all they do, providing a platform for high achievement whilst also closely matching provision to the learning needs of our most vulnerable children. An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint two permanent KS1 Teachers starting in April 2022.
You will be able to carry out the professional duties of a KS1 Classroom Teacher in accordance with the school's policies and under the direction of the Headteacher/Assistant Headteachers. You will be an effective professional who demonstrates their curriculum knowledge, able to deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment to support the achievement of pupils.

The successful candidate will:
Have evidence of exemplary Key Stage 1 classroom practice.
A sound understanding of recent developments in the primary curriculum.
Knowledge and experience of delivering education to all pupils including those with SEND and EAL
Knowledge of strategies which are necessary to promote purposeful learning and progress while safeguarding the health and safety of pupils.
Understanding of multicultural education and other issues related to ensuring that classroom organisation and practices are not discriminatory.
Ability to plan and prepare programmes of work, with the appropriate support and challenge, for the delivery of the curriculum in the appropriate phase.
Ability to assess the needs of individual pupils and maintain appropriate records for the purpose of continuity and progress in curriculum areas.
Excellent inter-personal, task management skills.
Ability to use data effectively in setting targets and understanding pupil progress.
