An amazing opportunity has arisen for a committed professional to join West Berkshire Council in the Commissioning and Procurement Service as the Service Manager with the lead for implementing category management across third party spend in the Resources and Place Directorates. This role will give you a real chance to develop the procurement offer in these areas, and work alongside a dedicated and professional team.
The post holder will take the lead on developing and implementing category plans and procurement strategies in areas such as ICT, construction, energy and facilities. You will be a member of the Councils Procurement Board, and drive tangible developments across specific areas of spend but with the remit to impact on the whole Council spend.
We are looking for someone with a good track record of managing a range of procurement projects, who is ideally CIPS qualified with an excellent understanding of all relevant legislation and the ability to drive forward the delivery of the Councils Procurement Strategy 2020 – 2022 to achieve good value for money and quality in all our third party spend.

West Berkshire Council is in the process of moving to remote working model which is based around 2 days office working and 3 days at home, subject to business requirements being met.
