About the Shared Technology Service
This role is for the Network Team. For further information on specialisation, please see the full job description.
Shared Technology Services are looking for IT Support Consultants to support and maintain the existing ICT infrastructure for Shared Technology Services, covering all four areas of client support, datacentre, data network and messaging & collaboration support, but with additional specialisation in one of the areas.
With a customer-focused attitude, the IT Support Consultants will take ownership of calls and resolve these within their SLAs. They will work on a rota basis covering call triage, call resolution & escalation, on-site support across all shared service sites, project related work, and provide cover for colleagues in other teams as and when required.
The successful candidates will design and implement solutions to technical issues, meticulously documenting these to aid colleagues with similar tickets to resolve. The IT Support Consultants will need to provide out-of-hours cover occasionally.
Additional responsibilities for the PO4 role include management of suppliers & contracts and being a technical authority in a key system such as telephony or networks for example. The PO4 will then use this authority to influence the design of future IT services.
The Person
The ideal candidate will show commitment to resolving technical issues, flexible in their approach and have an ability to see the bigger picture by prioritising efficiently. This role brings a varied range of challenges so the IT Support Consultants will be willing to learn continuously.
The successful candidate will have good interpersonal and communication skills in discussing resolutions with users and their team. They should be willing to go the extra mile to take responsibility in ensuring a high level of service for our partners and other organisations we support.
