West Berkshire Council has successfully secured funding under the Rough Sleeper Initiative to end homelessness in West Berkshire. We are therefore looking to recruit a Rough Sleeper Move on Officer with the skills to work closely with clients who are a moving away from a life on the streets.
The post will form part of the Housing Team and will work in partnership with all front line based teams in order to reduce rough sleeping. The service will identify and engage with rough sleepers to develop a move on pathway to move clients into longer term housing solutions.
Collaboratively working with internal and external partners, the post holder will ensure a holistic approach is taken in arranging individual housing plans. You will advocate for vulnerable individuals in order for them to overcome barriers into accommodation solutions through housing related knowledge and advocacy skills.
The post holder will be adaptive and flexible, resilient to challenge and to support the stability and progression of clients in order to sustain their move on pathway.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly and creatively in order to meet the needs of the clients.
Experience of working with those who are homeless and/or rough sleeping will be viewed as an asset in this role.
