The Economy Team is recruiting for a Business Engagement Officer. It is an exciting opportunity to become part of our expanding and dynamic team at a pivotal time in economic recovery.
The team has a broad range of priorities including business and inward investment, sector development, employment and skills and community learning. These key areas of work are delivered primarily through a range of projects and programmes to help stimulate growth, investment and job creation. In this role you will be working on a variety of activities and programmes within the Economy Team which will mean directly engaging and supporting North Somerset businesses and key partners. Your job will involve accurately collating and disseminating information, assisting colleagues with project development, drafting funding applications and event coordination. You will need strong communication, excellent IT skills and experience of using social media effectively
The council have an ambitious plan to support inclusive growth across North Somerset based on our vision to create an open, fairer, greener North Somerset. Through the Economic Plan we seek to address the social and economic impacts of the Covid-19 on our businesses and residents. North Somerset is unique in that it is has some of the wealthiest and most deprived areas in the country and this divide has been exacerbated by the pandemic.
