This is an exciting opportunity to join the Practice & Service Development Team in Adult Social Care in Tower Hamlets as The Principal Social Worker.  

As part of the Senior Management Team, reporting to the Director for Adult Social Care, this post will be the professional lead for Adult Social Work in the organisation, working across the service and with partners, as part of the council and social care system including people with lived experience and their carers.

This post will lead on adults Social Work Academy, workforce development, quality assurance, practice improvement / development and strategic safeguarding. The post will have line management responsibility for the Senior Strategic Safeguarding Lead, the Quality and Service Improvement Lead and a Social Work Practice Lead. The role will hold overall responsibility for the Practice and Service Development Team which also includes Professional Development Coordinators for Learning and Development and Practice Learning / ASYE / Social Work Apprenticeships.

The post will be pivotal in further embedding strength-based approaches in Adult Social Care as part of the wider Transformation and Improvement Plans in the service. The role will also lead on further embedding the ASC Practice Framework, Tower RADARS.
