Job Title: Project Manager
Salary Range: £34,106 progressing to £44,697 pa
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Fixed Term or Secondment until 31st October 2020
The Public Health team commissions a wide range of services to improve the health of Hertfordshire residents including weight management, sexual health services, NHS Health Checks, health improvement for children and young people, and health protection. We are looking for a highly motivated project manager to join our busy team.
We are looking for someone who is organised, self-motivated, resilient and has excellent communication skills. Project management experience and a Prince II qualification are desirable but not essential.
Under the guidance of the Head of Programme Management and Resources you will manage a variety of projects working with colleagues across the Public Health team, potentially working with other HCC departments and external partner organisations. The work is varied and challenging and requires a high degree of self-management.
Skills and Experience
Prince II or equivalent, relevant experience and an interest in health are advantageous. A can-do attitude and the ability to recognise and pursue opportunities, learn quickly and apply a pragmatic approach to solving problems are essential.
As you will be dealing with a wide variety of people at all levels a professional an approachable manner is vital as are strong communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to maintain confidentiality
You will be highly motivated, able to use your initiative when appropriate, and have a proven track record of working effectively in an organised way. You will have the flexibility to work on a variety of different tasks at any one time, prioritising your work and managing tight deadlines.
You will be competent and confident user of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
