Are you looking for a new career to start the New Year? Then look no further as Halton Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for a Licensing Officer to join its dedicated Legal Services Licensing Department.
You will be one of two Licensing Officers responsible for processing all licences, permits and consents issued by the Licensing Department and for providing advice and assistance to the public, elected members and current and prospective licence holders. This includes manning the public counter when it is reopened, taking and processing payments and carrying out DBS checks. You will also support the Licensing Manager in developing and improving licensing procedures and with providing statistical and financial information. The team also comprises a Taxi Licensing Enforcement Officer and two Solicitors.
You will be a highly motivated individual with a willingness to learn. Whilst experience of licensing law is required, training will be provided for the right candidate.
You will have at least 5 GCSEs Grade 3 or above (at least one must be in English) or equivalent qualification and possess experience of dealing with members of the public, working efficiently and accurately under pressure and being accountable for large amounts of income. You will also have excellent organisational skills.
For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Kim Hesketh (Licensing Manager) on 0151 511 8066.
Interviews will be held week commencing 14 February 2022.
