About the role
Behaviour Support Assistant - The Hastings Academy
The Hastings Academy looking for someone to join our Team as a Behaviour Support Assistant.
- Working under guidance, implement work programmes for individuals/groups which could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas, including behaviour support
- To provide specialist support for students identified as needing behaviour support and have additional educational needs
- To provide in class support for all students as directed by the Assistant Principal – Alternative Provision
We are looking for someone who:
- Has the ability to build strong positive relationships with students
- Is resilient and has experience in providing educational support with strong discipline
- Has enthusiasm, presence and authority with a positive, can-do attitude
- Is highly organised, motivated and driven to succeed
- Is able to support students who exhibit challenging behaviour
- Is a team member who will collaborate with colleagues to ensure feedback regarding students is consistent and constructive
The salary on a pro-rata basis equates to £17,994.

We are a modern and innovative school, with specialist classrooms and technology to support learning. Our team of talented professional staff are committed to maximising the potential of every child. We hold the Quality of Careers Standard, the national quality award for careers education, information, advice and guidance. We are renowned for our inclusivity and outstanding care of students. We offer 180 student places every year, with a total capacity of 900. We also host a special facility for up to 10 young people with speech and language and communication difficulties.
