What is the role

You will provide an initial point of contact for all Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR’s) received into Children’s Social Care Services.  As well as managing all requests you will ensure relevant correspondence is completed and where appropriate payments received and acknowledged.  This will involve dealing with internal and external customers both in writing and face to face, whilst ensuring complex DSAR’s are managed within the legal timeframes.  You will ensure compliance with both the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requirements in the preparation and disclosure of client records for issue to external customers.  In addition you will be setting administrative performance standards and ensuring they are met.

What you need to succeed:

As well as excellent communication skills and attention to detail, you will need to have an understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998/GDPR in relation to requests for information from the public.
