We are currently looking for a new Communications and Engagement Manager to provide effective leadership and management of the functions of the Council’s Communications Service.

You will plan, develop, and advise on the strategy and implementation of consistent and co-ordinated consultation and engagement with residents, partners, and businesses. You will be leading a small team delivering high quality internal and external communications.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Work with colleagues and the media to ensure that the council's work is well promoted throughout the community and beyond

  • Use insight to refine strategic and tactical communications

  • Develop strong relationships across the organisation

  • Represent the council with our community partners across Surrey.

  • Build and deliver communication strategies and programmes across the entire spectrum of communication disciplines including media and internal communications, marketing, advertising, digital and social media, and content materials.

  • Take a practical role in delivering as well as planning and designing communications strategy and audience outreach and engagement.

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills including presenting and public relations.
