About Us

www.sefton.gov.uk/socialworkrecruitment (please take a look and see how together we can #make a difference)

Sefton Children’s Social Care is undergoing an improvement journey that will be characterised not only by a significant financial investment, but also by pace, political support and investment in our workforce. The transformation will bring vision ambition and drive to this vital service, and new roles within the service are emerging. We now have an exciting new opportunity as Head of Quality Assurance, Performance and Safeguarding.

Sefton has the best of both worlds, from the vibrant city of Liverpool to the south, to miles of fantastic coastline and respected green spaces in the north. The borough is internationally recognised for its outstanding natural beauty and commitment to sustainability. Sefton communities look out for each other. We focus on our similarities and diversities but never on our differences, working together to live a fruitful life.

As part of the Council’s Strategic Leadership Board with a key role in Children’s Services you will be critical to the improvement journey for Sefton’s transformation so that services for children, young people and families are consistently good or better.

The successful candidate will promote, implement, and lead continuous improvement programmes to improve service functions and create a performance and accountability culture that drives up standards and performance. You will deliver high level advice and guidance which significantly influences, either directly or indirectly, trust and confidence of the community and the Council.

If you have experience of strategic leadership, particularly of leading change and improvement in children’s services, who shares our values and ambitions and is willing to commit to Sefton’s communities and promote the welfare of young people, we would like to hear from you.

You must be a Qualified Social worker, registered with Social Work England and have an appropriate leadership/business degree level qualification or professional management qualification.

If you would like to discuss this post prior to applying please contact Paul Cunningham via paul.cunningham@sefton.gov.uk or Mark Dale mark.dale@sefton.gov.uk
