Our shared vision

Surrey Heartlands ICS and Surrey County Council (SCC) have an established partnership which supports and seeks to develop further joint working and innovation across health and the County Council. By 2030 we want Surrey to be a uniquely special place where everyone has a great start to life, people live healthy and fulfilling lives, are enabled to achieve their full potential and contribute to their community, and no one is left behind.

Our ability to jointly achieve this will be determined by partners and partnerships across local government and the wider public sector, the NHS and other healthcare providers, local businesses and many others working together in a collaborative way. Equally we recognise that bringing in great people to help us explore and challenge the way public services systems use analytics and insight to optimise their future thinking capability and capacity will be integral to our success.

The role

Reporting to our Joint Director for Strategic Business Intelligence and Analytics, you'll hold a key responsibility for our insights function, providing  strategic and operational leadership to develop and evolve the county council’s data enabled insights capability into a joint function which advances further integration. This role will be at the centre of encouraging greater innovation that cuts across complex organisational and system boundaries with Surrey Heartlands ICS and wider partnerships. A primary focus will be encouraging and championing the use of advanced data analytics and data science best practice to support a step change in both culture and thinking with partners.

Is this me?

Alongside the specific role person requirements, we are looking for someone who can bring their proven experience and a successful track record of leading analytics and information across a large organisation. You’ll be able to demonstrate developed analytical thinking to suggest innovative solutions and approaches to complex issues. With strong negotiation and influencing skills you’ll inform and shape strategic thinking and decisions with partners, using data and insight to challenge decisions and drive change. You’ll also be able to build positive relationships that engage and connect with key partners across systems, supporting progress against our ambitions within complex policy areas.

If this sounds like you, and if you’re genuinely interested in how data can provide insight to effect real change then we’d love to hear from you. Please apply by uploading your CV and covering letter outlining your suitability with evidence for this role

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
