We encourage our employees to make a valuable contribution to the work of the council by having a trusting and open culture, where ideas are actively sought. We also recognise the value of a highly motivated and engaged workforce.

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Exchequer Services Team here in Fareham.
This is a busy and challenging time within Financial Services as they work towards implementing a new financial management system which is due to go live by April 2022.
This role is being introduced to assist Managers in maximising the opportunities that this new system will bring. We are looking for someone with a forward thinking attitude to assist us in our continued review of our processes to ensure they are efficient and effective for the finance team, other services and the customer.
In addition, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting members of the Exchequer Services team as well as overseeing supplier payment and debt collection activities.
You will need to have excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with customers in a helpful and polite way, some situations may be complex and sensitive and you will need to act in a tactful, non judgemental way in order to resolve problems.
Ideally you will have previous experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable systems as well as experience in basic debt collection.
This will be a busy role with changing circumstances and demands and you will need to be able to manage your time effectively and prioritise your workload in order to meet deadlines.
If you are looking for a new challenge and this sounds like a role you would relish then we would love to hear from you.
