Are you looking to make positive difference and work towards achieving a qualification in administration through an apprenticeship?  West Berkshire are looking to recruit an Apprentice Shared Lives Administrator to our friendly team. 

The apprenticeship is a fixed term contract for the duration of 22 months. You will be based at The Phoenix Resource Centre, Newbury, and you will be supported to undertake the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship:

Shared Lives aims to offer support to a variety of people from age 16 and over with a differing range of needs and skills. These can be people with learning disabilities, people with mental health problems, older people, care leavers, disabled children becoming young adults, parents with learning disabilities and their children. 

Someone can become a part of a Shared Lives home on a full-time basis, through regular short break stays, or as day support visits. 

Although we welcome all applicants, we encourage applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds such as:

  • Children in care (care leavers/LAC)
  • Young people classified as NEETS (Not in Education, Employment or Training)
  • Young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability)
  • Young people with physical disabilities

  • Young people who are identified as being at risk (e.g. supported but our Children & Family Services teams due to being a young carer, family drug or alcohol abuse). 

We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.
