Emergency Duty Service – Senior Practitioner and Approved Mental Health

If the answer is yes and you are a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking to appoint up to three Senior Practitioners to support the growing demand for our services within the County.
The team is made up of experienced and skilled senior social workers who are used to working autonomously and are comfortable making risk-based decisions. The team offers a comprehensive supported induction process with ongoing wider support from the team, regular team meetings and supervision from the Team Practice Manager.
Skills you will have:
You will have a comprehensive understanding of the needs of the most vulnerable people in our community. You will be skilled at assessing risk and needs and experienced in working as part of a multi-disciplinary/agency team and making outcome focussed decisions independently. You must be confident with using IT systems for case management.

Unlike most Social Worker roles, you will not have an ongoing caseload as the work involves short term emergency interventions. Your month will be made up of a combination of evenings, weekend shifts, bank holidays and waking nights, across 9 shifts in a month on average.
The salary for the role is approximately £50,000, which includes weekend working payments, unsocial hours payments and a market supplement for being a qualified and practicing AMHP. In addition, there is also an AMHP allowance of £35 per assessment and the opportunity for non-contractual overtime, so you can earn extra income if you choose. You will also be paid double time for bank holidays if you are on the rota to work.
The role requires travelling around the county but there are opportunities to work from home between call outs if you live within East Sussex. If you are not local and would consider relocating to beautiful East Sussex, we have a relocation package which we would be happy to discuss with you.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
