About the role
East Sussex is a great place to live and work. As a county it has much to offer in the way of outstanding natural beauty, beautiful coastline, great transport links to London and a great quality of life.
Here in East Sussex we want to create healthy places and tackle inequalities by working in innovative ways in order to deliver the very best outcomes for our people and places. We know the importance of our built and natural environments. They are the places where we live, work and play and they can support or hinder our health and well-being. The built and natural environment have the capacity to reduce or widen health inequalities so it is important that we maximise opportunities to improve, enhance and protect them.
The East Sussex Public Health team is forward thinking and aspirational. We are looking for two creative thinking people to be a part of the ‘Creating Healthy Places Team’. The role is new, innovative and exciting and it cuts across a number of areas including planning, housing, public health, the natural environment and sustainability. Do you have a qualification or experience in planning policy or delivering public health outcomes? Do you have a strong interest in healthy place making as well as health and environmental impacts? Do you want to influence policies other than health across the system? Do you want to gain experience or further experience working in public health? Can you help to embed public health and healthy place making principles in order to get ‘health into place’ and health in all policies (HiAP)? If you answered yes to all of these questions then check out the person specification and start applying. We want to hear from you!
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
