About the role

About The Role

We are seeking to appoint an innovative teacher of English to develop and coordinate the English curriculum across the whole school. You will be skilled at engaging and motivating students with behaviour and learning difficulties including SEMH and ASD.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a diverse range of skills and a positive attitude and will have a passion for the English curriculum that will motivate and encourage our students. As well as having a good sense of humour, you will need to be well organised, calm, patient and passionate about teaching students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. We believe that all of our students are capable of making outstanding progress and we want to appoint individuals who share our belief and have the desire and motivation to make this happen.

To be considered for the English Teacher role you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • A degree in English or equivalent in a subject related to English
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching English to KS3 and KS4
  • Evidence of commitment to own professional development
  • Opportunity to progress to Senior Teacher

 

Information About The School

Anderida Learning Centre is an independent special school that provides a bespoke learning environment for students in KS3-5 with social, emotional, mental health difficulties and associated learning difficulties. Recently judged Good by Ofsted. Our classes operate with a ratio of at least 2:1 student to adults. Complementing our more traditional learning areas at our school site we have a care farm where we offer more vocational and practical learning opportunities. Anderida Learning Centre is currently designated for 8 full-time students.
