This is activity that provides important income generation for the County Council while also enabling school and academy customers access to good quality, value for money services and training. The creation of this role forms part of a wider expansion of the team and is an important step in their journey of transformation to streamline and move onto a more professional and commercial footing in the approach to trading services and training with education customers across Surrey County Council. This role is key to that transformation in enabling robust financial processes to support the business function, but also in enhancing the offer to service and training providers by supporting the Services for Schools Manager with financial modelling in support of proposition development, high level reporting and financial assurance. You will be expected to become the recognised subject matter expert with regards to the financial processes for schools traded services and training, and to become a central single point of contact for internal and external customers in relation to billing and financial queries.

You will also support the team manager with financial modelling and income reporting. Working closely with the Corporate Finance/Services for Schools Portal Officer within the School Relationships Service/Education Teams/Schools, you will help with the development of the Services for Schools Portal, supporting the Services for Schools Portal Officer with responsibility for the administration of the portal.
