Technical Officer – Environmental Health (Ref: TO)

Salary: Up to £32,958.00 p.a.

 

Broxbourne Council is looking for an excellent communicator and problem solver with a positive attitude to join as the team’s new Technical Officer. You will join a team constantly aiming to be at the forefront of health and safety and food safety enforcement.

Our busy Environmental Health team is committed to improving the quality of life of our residents. The team leads on local COVID initiatives, and is heavily involved in other pandemic work such as investigating complaints, providing advice, and contact tracing.

 

 You will be involved in the full range of environmental health activities, including:

 

  • Environmental protection – pollution control, planning consultations, statutory nuisance and general public health complaints
  • Food and Health and Safety – commercial premises, health promotion, infectious diseases and licensing activities
  • Housing and Residential – providing private sector housing advice and investigations.

 

You should be EHORB registered with a NEBOSH general certificate, and must have some experience of this work. You should be an experienced Technical Officer or newly qualified Environmental Health Officers looking to build on your experience.

 

You must hold a full valid driving license and be willing to work on a rota basis to cover the Council’s out of hour’s noise service. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
