We are seeking to recruit an exceptional individual with a passion for, and experience of, providing relationship-centered dementia care, to join our team to provide specialist dementia support to families across Rutland as a band 7 Admiral Nurse. This Admiral Nurse service, hosted by Rutland County Council in collaboration with Dementia UK, provides specialist dementia support for families and carers.
The primary focus of the Admiral Nurse role is to provide specialist dementia nursing expertise and support to those affected by dementia, with a specific focus on family carers/supporters who experience difficulties. Under the supervision of a Consultant Admiral Nurse and Head of Service Adult Social Care alongside a team of nurses you will deliver evidence-based dementia care and support improvements in the experience for families affected by dementia.
As this post is delivered in collaboration with Dementia UK, you will receive support to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse through ongoing Professional and Practice Development. You will become part of a network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant resources to continue to develop professionally, informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework.
The successful applicants will be NMC registered with post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and their carers/supporters in different settings, along with formal knowledge of dementia acquired through clinical post-graduate training/education.

The Admiral Nurse position has been identified as needing to comply with the mandatory vaccinations legislation. If you are the successful candidate, you will need to provide evidence that you have received both first and second dose vaccinations or evidence of medical exemption.
