We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Needs and Standards team as a Specialist Advisor for Rough Sleeping.
Housing Needs and Standards delivers the housing options services on behalf of Eastbourne Borough and Lewes District Councils, and as a Specialist Advisor you will play a pivotal role in fast paced environment, leading on the rough sleeping pathways and helping to get our applicants off the street and into sustainable solutions that meet their needs. You will be the main point of contact for all partners in relation to rough sleeping in the area, and form part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary RSI team providing innovative joint-working solutions for people who find themselves homeless and rough sleeping, and you will work on an assertive outreach basis in order to support our most vulnerable clients
You will be offering support, advice and guidance to homeless applicants who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping. You will responsible for your own caseload, as well as advising other colleagues to resolve cases of varying complexity.
To be successful you will be a good communicator and able to build strong working relationships with internal and external partners. You will also need an eye for detail, have good investigation, critical thinking and decision making skills and be able to adapt and manage a demanding workload.
Knowledge and experience in housing options and homelessness are essential, as is a thorough working knowledge of the relevant Acts, experience of working directly with rough sleepers and clients with multiple and complex needs, effective joint working with partners and a focus on positive solutions.

You will be required to work from home, as well as from our Lewes, Eastbourne and Newhaven offices, subject to the needs of the service.
