Apprenticeship opportunity in Horticulture and Landscape (Ref: B900)

(18-24 year olds) Starting salary £13,416 - £18,532 p.a. depending on age

 

Broxbourne Environmental Services Trading Limited (BEST) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Broxbourne Borough Council delivering the Council’s wide range of front line services.

BEST is seeking to recruit suitable candidates to join its apprenticeship scheme. The successful candidates will be working on a range of grounds maintenance activities on the highway and in the Borough’s parks and open spaces.

The salary for this role will start at £13,416 - £18,532 p.a depending on the age of the apprentice, based on a 40-hour week.

The Apprentice will undertake on-the-job training four days per week and attend Capel Manor College on one day per week during term time to study for a Horticulture and Landscape Apprenticeship qualification. Courses start in January 2022.

Applicants must have GCSE passes at grade E / grade 2 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications). They must also have a good work ethic, be flexible, reliable, and have a positive attitude.  Apprentices must enjoy working outside and being part of a successful team. The Apprenticeship will be for 2 years on a fixed-term contract. At the end of this period, a permanent full-time position may be offered.
