Recent legislation requires us to make our digital assets accessible and usable for everyone. To achieve this level of compliance, we make sure the council’s corporate website and microsites meet the latest accessibility and usability standards.
The team are responsible for creating, updating and editing websites. You may also migrate content from existing microsites to the main website, help to build new microsites, and make documents accessible across the website portfolio. You will work on specific projects in order to improve the customer experience and accessibility.
You should have previous experience of using a CMS and an understanding of the accessibility issues surrounding PDFs would be useful. Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 would be desirable.
You must have experience of writing, editing and proof-reading documents, ideally for publishing in the public domain. You must also have the confidence to liaise with departments across the council to capture web content.
You will be experienced working as part of a team to achieve a common goal, and also able to work on your own to achieve your own personal objectives.
You will have great attention to detail and be able to ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
