We are looking for a 12 month fixed term contract for a My Family First Intervention Worker. We have the opportunity for a family support worker/ Intervention Worker to join our My Family First Service, during which we will work in partnership with local West Berkshire schools to help provide Early Help and preventative work.
My Family First Service provides support and advice to families where there are worries and concerns. The aim of the My Family First Service is to help to prevent those worries and concerns from escalating to a point where the family require a statutory intervention from Children and Family Services.
The role of the MFF Intervention workers is to work directly with West Berkshire schools to engage families in the community, to prevent escalation of worries and concerns and to promote engagement with existing community services. This role will also work with and support schools with the training, development and use of West Berkshire early help Tool; My Family Plan (MFP).
The successful candidate will be required to be proactive and engage in direct work with parents and children in school clusters. A full driving licence is essential because of the rural nature of the district. Our main offices are based in Newbury and the outskirts of Reading.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
