Are you an experienced and highly-skilled welfare benefits adviser looking for a new challenge?

This is an exciting opportunity to use your existing extensive welfare benefits knowledge to advise families who have suffered the physical and/or financial effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

You will deliver a specialist benefits advice service including casework, advocacy and appeals representation as required. The service is to be delivered mainly by phone, e-mail and as social distancing rules relax, in-person as necessary.  Although based in Stevenage, you will be able to primarily work from home. Your client base will cover the whole of the county.

Postholders will be expected to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with  partner organisations in their area, such as Early Years staff, Primary Care Networks, children’s centres, district and borough councils, Children Services teams, voluntary organisations etc.

You will need an excellent knowledge of the whole range of welfare benefits, but especially Universal Credit. You will also need proven casework, organisational and IT skills. You will join an experienced and supportive team but must be able to work independently and manage a high caseload to a very high standard.

Excellent support and training is provided within the Money Advice Unit.

All posts are subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

For an informal discussion about these roles, please call Juliette Veal on 01438 843456. If Juliette is not available, please ask to speak to one of the other managers.
