Ribble Valley Borough Council is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty with close links to transport networks.
We are looking for a pre-planning advice officer to join our team to advise applicants and agents on the acceptability of development proposals submitted under our pre-application scheme, as well as the need for planning consents.
You will assist in ensuring that all necessary consultations and notifications are carried out on all submitted applications, including drawing together responses and, where necessary, negotiating further with the applicant or agent.
You should possess a current driving licence and have access to a car for work as you will be required to carry out site visits.
Candidates will have a planning degree or degree in related field and relevant experience working in a planning department. Membership of the RTPI is desirable. Good report writing ability and excellent communication/organisational skills are required. The ability to work flexibly as part of a team is also essential.
