To ensure continued provision of services within Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council we are seeking to recruit a Public Health Nurse with a vacancy in the Dearne locality area and a vacancy to work in our Partnership Plus team which supports our most vulnerable children and families across the Borough who are on child protection and child in need plans,  for this vacancy you need to have experience of working with vulnerable children and families with understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.  

 

What you’ll need

 

To join us you will need to be a first level registered nurse and have a special interest in working with children, young people and their families providing safe and effective care that enables all children and young people to have the best possible outcomes. You will need to be able to understand the needs of children and young people to assist you in undertaking clear and detailed assessments at both individual and community level including assessment of health needs and identifying risks. You will work alongside health visiting and school nursing teams and contribute towards delivering the Healthy Child Programme and provide specific targeted interventions as well as delivering health promotion and public health activities. We are seeking individuals who are motivated, enthusiastic and who are passionate about wanting to support the provision of high-quality services that improves outcomes for children, young people, families, and communities. Your ability to plan and prioritise your own workload and the ability to travel to a range of venues and settings is essential.
