About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly-motivated Early Help Keyworkers to bring their emotional wellbeing skills to East Sussex’s Early Help Service for families (0-19).  East Sussex is now seeking talented individuals to take positions in the HOA Short Term Keywork team based at Ocean House, Hastings East Sussex. This role is focused on supporting pupils with emerging mental health needs in local schools in Hastings.

You will be responsible for all aspects of Keyworking, including family assessment and developing Short Term Plans that identify clear, measurable targets alongside packages of support (regular reflective supervision). You will work closely with allocated schools and parents to address low level emotional needs raised by referrals made to the service.

 You will need to have QCF Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English or demonstrate competency in these areas through tests and a QCF Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject as well as being able to show that you have a deep understanding of working with vulnerable families.

Crucially, you’ll need to be prepared to work effectively with families in a number of potential areas (including education, mental health, domestic violence, Youth Offending, income inequality).

The expectation is that new staff will commence on Single Status Grade 7, unless they have QCF Level 4 qualification or higher and can demonstrate experience in this field of work when they can commence on Single Status 8.

Although this is a short-term contract ending July 31 2022 this fixed term contract could offer good opportunities to a highly motivated and enthusiastic person.
