You will be supported to help children and families to achieve their potential, ensure their voices are heard and that they are safe and protected.  As part of the Early Help service, you will be given responsibility right from the start , alongside which you will be given the support to utilise your skills and experiences to ensure families, children (with a focus on those aged 0-5 years) and young people receive the best possible support.

What it's like working in our team...

The Early Help Service consists of a multi-disciplinary team that works with children, young people, and families.  We work closely with a range of partners including children’s social care, schools, housing and health providers and services.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

  • Supporting families who may have arrange of identified needs.
  • Utilising a range of strategies and resources to effectively engage children, parents, families, partners, and communities to improve family outcomes.
  • Undertake family assessments and develop assertive interventions that meet the needs of the family, sometimes in complex environments.
  • Co-ordinate a Team Around the Family approach that enables children, young people, and families to be resilient and make positive life choices.
  • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure a high standard of service to families.
  • The ability to respond to and manage a range of priorities.
  • To deliver programmes and group work where appropriate, in particular those associated with the 0-5 years age range.

What we're looking for...

Enthusiastic and proactive early help practitioners with an awareness of the Supporting Families Programme, universal and targeted provision for families and young people aged 0-19 years, with a focus on those aged 0-5 years.  You will need to be well organised, self-motivated, a committed member of the team with an overriding passion for improving outcomes for families, children and young people.  You will need experience of undertaking direct work with families and young people, have a strong understanding of safeguarding and have excellent communication skills.
