St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. Our refurbished offices are in the city centre near to the station (London St Pancras 20 minutes), shops and restaurants. In short it is a great place to live and work.

 

The candidate will be part of the Digital Services team who are responsible for printing, processing incoming and outgoing post, scanning, and indexing a wide range of Council’s correspondence (this will include dealing with both paper and electronic documents). The Document Control Officer’s duties include printing using production digital printers and providing first line support for the office printers. Experience in these fields would be advantageous but training can be provided.

 

The candidate will be required to use a wide range of professional software and common office applications. Good IT skills and computer confidence are essential for this position.

 

The successful candidate with be responsible for meeting quality standards and deadlines, so a quick keen eye for detail will be the key to success. This role will require dealing with a wide range of internal and external customers daily, which needs a professional, responsive approach whilst remaining calm under pressure. The role will be a mix of desk based and physical work and the ideal post holder will need to be comfortable with both. The candidate will be required to work both from our office in St Albans civic centre and remotely from home.
