  • Fixed Term 7-9 months - Term Time Only
  • 30 hours per week as follows:
  • TA2 - 25 hours per week PLUS
  • Midday Supervisor responsibilities 5 hours per week
  • 39 weeks worked per year/46 (TA) & 44.65 (MSA) weeks paid per year
  • (FTE Grade 1 £17,842 to Grade 3 £18,562)
  • Pro-rata salary starting from £13,159 p.a.

The main responsibility of the post will be to support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum, both by directly working with pupils and assisting in preparation of resources. We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant 2 (with midday supervisor responsibilities) into our primary department, on a fixed-term contract, to cover a period of maternity leave, starting from September 2021, for a 7-9 month period. 

The ideal candidate should be innovative, enthusiastic, flexible, have an interest and knowledge of child development and an understanding of child protection procedures.  You will be role models for our pupils at all times and should be able to demonstrate how you would model expected behaviours. Our young people have social, emotional and mental health needs and therefore resilience and a good sense of humour would be beneficial. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sensitive and empathic approach to working with young males. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable, it is not essential and appropriate training will be provided for the right candidate.

If successful, you will become part of a very committed and hardworking team. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential.  We will provide you with high quality training and support.
