Job Requirements

We are looking to recruit a dedicated Cook in Charge at Kingsmeadow School.

The post presents an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified applicants who have at least one year’s experience within the catering industry.

The school kitchen caters for between 130 - 150 meals per day and has a team of 3 kitchen staff.

The school takes a keen interest in the catering operation and works closely with our kitchen staff and the Cook in Charge to create a nurturing and innovative lunchtime service. Our catering staff also actively encourage children to taste new things and make healthy choices.

We are looking for applicants who will be able to promote and develop the service, maintain excellent standards of food quality, kitchen hygiene and be able to meet the requirements of the children, school and parents.

The successful applicant must be enthusiastic, well organized and have good management skills to be able to run a busy kitchen. It would be beneficial to have had some experience of managing a team of staff.

The successful applicant will also be required to work closely with the School on other activities and initiatives that will further promote the service and increase meal numbers. We will therefore be looking for good communication skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference to the children who use our service.
