Job Title: Intensive Supervision & Surveillance Senior Practitioner
Location: Dacorum (1 post) and Hertford (1 post)
Salary Range: £35,745 to £39,880

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and Social Work England registered Social Worker with Youth Justice experience to join the Youth Justice Policy Team as an Intensive Supervision and Surveillance (ISS) Senior Practitioner.
The postholder will work in partnership with Specialist Adolescent Service Hertfordshire staff and other statutory and voluntary agencies, to provide intensive and robust alternative-to-custody programmes for young people subject to Youth Rehabilitation Orders with Intensive Supervision and Surveillance requirements. The post holder must also be able to represent the service in court, including participating in the Court Duty rota and preparing and presenting authoritative reports for Court.
The successful applicant will preferably have experience of management and will line manage and supervise Support Workers who hold their own caseloads and who support the ISS programme. The postholder will show leadership in best practice in Youth Justice whilst holding a caseload of complex and high risk cases and will contribute to the development of practice in Youth Justice across the teams.
They will have excellent skills of intervention and will be creative and persistent in meeting diverse needs, managing risk and promoting desistence from offending whilst consistently adhering to National Standards. One post is based in Hemel Hempstead and the other in Hertford. Both will involve some working across the County, so ability to travel is essential.
