An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Development Consultant to work within Adult Social Care on a 2-year fixed term contract. This is a newly created post which will involve supporting all aspects of learning and development working across all Adult Social Care teams and with our partners. 

The postholder will work with the Principal Social Worker for Adults and colleagues in the learning and development team, who coordinate the learning and development for both adults and children’s services. The postholder will also support the Adult Social Care Workforce board in the implementation of the adult social care workforce strategy and action plan.

The postholder will work towards ensuring the skills, knowledge and competence and overall performance of the adult social care workforce is measurably improved. This will be achieved by the creative design and delivery of innovative, leading edge learning & development interventions including 1:1 coaching and mentoring, traditional classroom learning, team based development and virtual and web based learning. They will lead on the effective procurement of externally-delivered learning programs and provide specialist learning & development expertise and advice to all stakeholders. The postholder will lead on the delivery of the Adult Social Care training plan and develop application and evaluation methods across a range of learning opportunities.

The Learning and Development consultant will have experience and knowledge of social care, and experience of working in learning and development, including undertaking training needs analysis, commissioning of training, working with training providers, as well as a good understanding and experience of developing blended learning solutions.

They will be very organised and be a team player, passionate about supporting people develop. They will be able to demonstrate initiative, be an excellent communicator, as well as having good presentation skills. They will be enthusiastic and flexible and will bring new ideas and creativity.
