About the role

Nursery Teacher - Oakwood Primary Academy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursery Teacher (QTS) who has a real desire to work within an early years setting to help ensure that all children receive the highest standards of care and education.

We are looking for a professional and committed Nursery Teacher to run our school based nursery that caters for children from two to four years of age. We require you to have an excellent understanding of the EYFS, child development and current safeguarding requirements. You will need to be dynamic and inspiring in your approach. You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to lead others and the interpersonal skills required to engage both children, staff and parents.

Oakwood Primary Academy is part of Aurora Academies Trust which runs successful schools and nurseries across East Sussex, Brighton, Crawley and Surrey. Essential qualifications:

  • A degree and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience of Teaching in EYFS
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Safeguarding knowledge

The main purposes of the role are:

  • To be responsible for the management of the nursery, working collaboratively with the Head of School, Early Years Lead/Key Stage One Lead and Nursery Staff to ensure high quality education for our pupils
  • To lead on Nursery inclusion, inclusive practices and work proactively with outside agencies.
  • To provide high quality education which inspires and motivates pupils and improves standards of learning and achievement
  • To create a safe and caring environment for all pupils
  • Safeguard the welfare of children and young people s/he is responsible for, or comes into contact with
  • To carry out the duties set out in the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document
