Are you a community-minded individual who would like to make a real difference to vulnerable people within the local area?

We are looking for flexible, motivated and considerate people to deliver hot meals using a Nissan v200 van in the borough of Woking.

Shift patterns will be offered on an ad-hoc basis, for the purposes of maintaining service delivery during busy periods or staff absence. Please note that shifts may cover weekdays, weekends and bank holidays and will generally be offered between the times of 9:00am and 2.00pm. If there are specific days or times that you are not available, please make this clear in your application.

Full training will be given, however a full, valid driving licence is essential for this role.

For an informal chat please call Ashley Harden-Boyle, Community Meals Manager on 01483 770777.

The Council offers in return membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, discounted health and leisure membership, plus many more excellent benefits.

As this job involves contact with vulnerable groups including children, successful applicants will be required to obtain a Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Assistance will be given by the Council and further details will be in the job application pack.

Woking Borough Council take a robust approach to thoroughly checking anyone who has applied to work with vulnerable groups including children.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post.  An assessment may be required. If you have any queries or would like to discuss this further, please contact the Human Resources team.

This is an ongoing recruitment campaign and will close when enough staff have been recruited to cover the weekly shifts. Shortlisting and interviewing will take place on a regular basis so we would encourage applicants to submit an application as soon as possible.
