The starting salary for this position is £10,971.50 per annum based on an 18 hour working week, pro-rata to £21,943. This opportunity is offered on a 12 month fixed-term basis.

This position is based at Woking Adult Learning Centre, Hoebrook Close, Bonsey Lane, Westfield, Woking, Surrey GU22 9PE. Working hours will be 1.30pm to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Surrey Adult Learning provide a wide range of daytime, evening and Saturday courses and learning opportunities for adults. This includes leisure courses like arts and crafts and languages, classes which support those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, classes aimed at parents/carers to help them support their children and improve their own skills and an outreach provision aimed at vulnerable groups in the community who would not normally engage in any form of learning. They also provide qualification courses such as GCSE's in English and Maths, and work with applicants who are non-native speakers of English who wish to gain an English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) qualification.

Surrey Adult Learning has seven centres across North and South West Surrey and is looking to appoint a Customer Advisor for its Customer Service Team, based at its Woking Centre.

This role will be part of a team acting as the first point of contact for telephone enquiries and enrolments for adults interested in attending adult learning classes. You will provide initial information and advice and a high level of customer care. You will input real time enrolments, process payments and refunds, along with attendance and achievement data on the Service's Management Information System (MIS). You will have worked in a similar customer service role previously and have an interest in adult learning.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be well organised. You will need to be a strong team player with excellent administration skills and the ability to manage your own workload, meet deadlines and prioritise as required. High standards of accuracy and attention to detail are required.

The Customer Service Team is a busy, friendly team of several part time members of staff, whose main responsibility is to provide a high level of customer service directly to members of the public. The team forms part of the larger Learning Services Team within Surrey Adult Learning.
