Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term for up to 1 year, or upon the return of the substantive postholder, whichever is earlier.

The SEND Team requires a Reviewing Officer to support our increasing workload. The team is responsible for ensuring that the LA’s statutory responsibilities towards individual children and young people with SEND are met.
The main duties associated with this post include writing EHC plans using assessment advice, managing the annual review process, including amending EHC plans, providing information to support the LA’s decision-making panel and liaising with parents, young people and a range of professionals from education, health and social care. The role includes attendance at and chairing of meetings. The successful candidate will also support the top up funding process.
We are a busy team and deal with sensitive, and at times, difficult situations. The successful candidate will have good organisational and interpersonal skills, have experience of similar work within a public sector and will need to be able to travel within North Somerset and further afield to support out of area placements.
To support continued expansion within the team, the successful candidate will be required to fulfil the role of SEND Officer until 31 March 2022, with a salary of £28,672 per annum. After which they will revert to the advertised role of Reviewing Officer.
This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
