About the role
Northease manor school is looking to recruit a classroom teacher to lead on PSHE. The role will include teaching a variety of lessons including Horticulture. This post would suit a KS2/3 teacher from a primary or secondary teaching background and also Early Careers Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing school at an exciting time.
Northease Manor is an independent school for children with a variety of specific learning difficulties who have struggled in mainstream schools. Situated just south of Lewes in East Sussex, the school’s centrepiece is a 17th century manor house set in 12 acres of grounds, surrounded by the rolling countryside of the South Downs. This gives the school a spectacular campus along with plenty of room for sports and outdoor activities. The coast is just four miles away.
In 2018 Northease was shortlisted for Independent School of the Year. Such is Northease Manor’s reputation that jobs here are highly sought after.
Northease Manor is a registered charity and most of the pupils are funded by their local education authorities, although a small and growing number of parents pay the fees themselves. The school is growing and numbers of pupils are expanding so this is an exciting time to join the team.
Northease is a wonderful place to work. ‘The behaviour of pupils is often truly impressive, and is outstanding overall’. ‘Almost all are unfailingly polite and courteous’ (latest OFSTED report), colleagues are inclusive, happy, fun and deeply committed, and the School is set in the most beautiful surroundings imaginable. Not only that, the team enjoy excellent personal terms which include small class sizes, TPS (for teachers) long holidays and free lunches, as well as a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing and career development. This post also includes the possibility of subsidised accommodation. A recently appointed member of staff said ‘This is by far the best job that I have ever had...’
Staff wellbeing is a top priority at Northease Manor and we offer a comprehensive wellbeing package including an Employee Assist programme and a free lunch every day.
More details about the school and about this post can be found on the school’s website www.northease.co.uk but if you have energy, enthusiasm and a burning passion to make a difference, and if you are inspired by the School’s nurturing, holistic, accepting approach, this could be the perfect job for you.
Northease Manor is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to obtain an enhanced DBS disclosure.
